SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
OF ANKARA STATE CONSERVATORY
Works by Turkish composer Jemal Recit Rey are to be performed by the Symphohy Orchestra of Ankara State Conservatory in the first part, while works by Chopin, Dvorak, and a Greek work will be presented in the second part. The soloists in the first part will be Hassan Nijiazi and Roujia Suder; the soloist in the second part will be Idil Biret. The Orchestra will be conducted by Erol Erditz.

The Artists
Hassan Nijiazi Toura was born in Istanbul in 1982. He is the son of well-known composer Yalcin Toura. He gave his first concert at the age of 7. After he graduated from the State Conservatory, he participated as a soloist in many concerts given by the symphony orchestra and gave a lot of recitals in various Turkish cities.
Roujia Suder was born in Istanbul. She received her first piano lessons by well-known piano tutor Erna Erksan, at the age of five. She later attended and graduated from the State Conservatory. In 1984 she received piano lessons by the well-known Finnish Professor Markitta Valve. She first performed in Europe at a recital in Zurich, Switzerland. Today, she teaches the piano at the State Conservatory of Istanbul
Idil Biret started training at the age of three at Paris Conservatory, under the guidance of Nadia Boulanger. By the time she was 15 she had already won three prizes. She studied the piano under Professor Alfred Cortot as well as Wilhelm Kempff. At sixteen, she had already worked with the most important orchestras of the world: London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Orchestra, Leningrad Philharmonic, the French State Orchestra, etc. She has participated in numerous festivals and has made more than 70 records.
Erol Erditz started with music studies at Ankara State Conservatory. He taught at the Conservatory and was a pianist with Ankara State Opera and Ballet. In 1975 he left for Paris, where he studied and got to know famous artists such as Jean Martinon and τον Pierre Dervaux. When he returned to his country, Erditz was appointed at the State Opera and Ballet of the Turkish capital. Shortly afterwards we was appointed at the State Symphony Orchestra of Istanbul, where he performed in 64 concerts in a single season. He has composed numerous works for every kind of symphonic music. Ertitz was artistic consultant at the Turkish Ministry of Culture for three years, and he was awarded the title of “National Artist”, which is an honour for only the most distinguished artists in the country.
