On December 3 and 4, the Mayors of major cities of Balkan Countries will be meeting in Thessaloniki for the second consecutive year.

The Municipality of Thessaloniki is organizing the 2nd International Meeting of Friendship and Cooperation between major Balkan cities, thus implementing the decisions taken during last year’s 1st Meeting.

Thessaloniki has hosted many initiatives towards Inter-Balkan understanding and cooperation.

However, this is the first time such cooperation concerns cities themselves, local communities themselves and citizens themselves.

Last year, following an initiative by the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Mayors of Major Balkan Cities met for the first time in Thessaloniki and declared their will to cooperate and establish common actions.

This initiative is fully supported by the European Union.
