The fight against criminality and the battle against drugs form a target for the Mayors of major Balkan Cities, who are meeting in the framework of the annual regular Synod of the Network of Major Balkan Cities in Craiova, Romania, at the end of September (30/9/2005-2/10/2005).

Next Friday, on August 26, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Vassilis Papageorgopoulos, is inviting to Thessaloniki, the permanent seat of the Network of Major Balkan Cities (Balcinet), the Executive Secretariat comprising the Mayors of Piraeus (Presiding City 2004), Craiova (Presiding City 2005) and Ankara (Presiding City 2006). The meeting will be taking place at ”Amfitrion II” Hall of Macedonia Palace Hotel at 12:00 noon so as to prepare the Mayors’ Synod and to deal with current organizational issues of the Network.
