The Presidency of the Balkan Cities’ Network for 2006 is held by the City of Ankara, where the 7th Mayors’ Summit was held from November 3  to 6, 2006.

During this Summit, there was discussion on the issues:

 1. “The development of the  friendship and cooperation between the Major Balkan Cities thourough cultural and artistic activities”

2. “Establishing permanent relations with the European Union and the Council of Europe and exploiting the EU programmes" and

3. “Urban regeneration, preservation and restoration of  historical centres in Major Balkan Cities”.
